The business of the Foundation's Economic Development Committee (EDC) is business. Pursuing goals we set for 2009, the EDC showcases Mount Holly business, bringing business and community leaders together to discuss topics of interest to our community.

Targets for 2009

1. 
Continue successful  programming of Monthly Small Business Breakfasts.  Domenic Campanile will coordinate the breakfasts this year, Mount Holly Chamber will provide administrative support.  These breakfasts are a joint venture between the Mount Holly/Gaston Chamber and the Mount Holly Foundation.  For registration, sponsorship or additional information – please contact Cam Tracy cam@gastonchamber.com

Proposed Line-Up is as follows:

            February 3 – Bill Gray – P&L
Railroad in Gaston County

            March 3 – Panel of Residential
Developers– how is housing doing in our market?

            April 8 – Medical Community
Expansions in Mount Holly

             May  5 – River District – update program

               

2. 
Host the 4th Annual Economic Development Conference in Mount Holly, Tuesday, October  6, 2009.

 

3.  Work in collaboration with the Mount Holly Chamber of Commerce and the City of Mount
Holly Economic Development Committee in developing a comprehensive economic development plan for Mount Holly including targeting industry focus and job growth.

 

4.  Develop a collaborative plan to incorporate an economic development component within the existing or enhanced web sites of the City of Mount Holly, Mount Holly Chamber of Commerce and  Mount Holly Development Foundation.   

 

5.  Support the implementation of the River District as it supports our Greenway and Economic Development strategies and the branding of our area.  For additional information please contact Edna Chirico edna.chirico@svn.com or Xavier Miranda

6.  Coordinate with Downtown, Mount Holly
Chamber and City of Mount Holly the update of our marketing brochure/map.  Mount Holly Chamber may take the lead on this.
